We are on to week #3 for Battle of the Bands at Porterdale Bar & Grill, Porterdale, GA. This week is the final elimination rounds prior to the finals on Saturday, December 2nd. The bout has been interesting so far with one band not even making an appearance. The first week the Dround Hounds rocked the bar to say the least. They had an advantage with the first ever no show at the battle, but no matter, these guys didn’t hold back when asked to play and they threw down like they were going for the win no matter.

The second week we had a dual out with singer songwriter Noxema Jones and the  ATLUS. The college indie rock band, the ATLUS had everyone on their feet at the bar dancing. First time ever seen a very eclectic and diverse band pull a crowd together for some great music and a night of pure rock n roll. This allowed the ATLUS to advance to the final round.

This week, we have the final round of eliminations including Tuesday in December (one band returning from last year’s bout), Hollow Sky and the Gods of Mars, out of Greenville, SC. This is gonna be a hard week for the bout with all acts ready and prepared to take it to the finals.

Guest judge Monroe Slim (a winner from last year’s bout, bassist for Red Dirt Mountain) will be sitting next to owner of Grease Inc., Brian L. Whitcomb. The third judge is drummer for 11 Standing Still and Sound Manager of Hot Pan Productions. The bands will be scored on originality, performance, crowd participation and engagement, and skill. The winner of this week will advance to the finals on December 2nd at Porterdale Bar and Grill for a chance to $1k cash and a write up feature in Grease Inc. to support their music career launch in 2018.

While you are at Porterdale Bar & Grill, make sure you enter a chance to win a complete complimentary game with the owners Scott and Debi for the Falcons NFL upcoming game.  All the details on how to enter are available at their facebook page:
