This year’s Father’s Day was celebrated at Stone Mountain Park with Cruise the Rock, hosted by Garage71 Radio and Southeast Wheels Events. The event has been a collection of ideas to support bringing back the days of cruising at Stone Mountain Park, which seemed to have disappeared in the late 1990’s. It’s our way to create a family friendly environment where dad can still enjoy his classic or hot rod, while also enjoying the family. From the adventure land events, the enjoying a ride around the mountain in the train, the entire family was able to spend a long day with day supporting his passion of classic cars and vintatge motorcycles.
Garage71 radio’s Rev. Andy played host for the day with some old school rockabilly. Rev. Andy has been spinning rock n roll now for over a decade and loves the atmosphere of the park. “It’s a great time seeing everyone’s family out at this event.” With children dancing and playing in the fields, they got to see some great rides and enjoy a nice cold ice cream by the end of the day!
We had a great Beer Garden provided by the MillerCoors Company in addition to our food truck convoy. One big hit was an ice cold Blue Moon to compliment the Bacon Jam Pimento Cheese Burger!!! What a hit that was!
