ROCKABILLY ON THE ROUTE MUSIC FESTIVAL & CLASSIC CAR/BIKE SHOW

June 1-4, 2017 in Tucumcari, NM

Tucumcari, NM: What began five years ago as a burst of passion, legendary music, and a celebration of classic Americana has grown into arguably the largest event of its kind anywhere on Route 66. Taking place throughout the historic, mid-century city of Tucumcari, NM, Rockabilly on the Route takes ownership of the Mother Road’s important cultural history to New Mexico, America, and the world as a four-day affair of over 27 bands and performers, including this year’s headliners Deke Dickerson & the Ecco-Fonics, the Delta Bombers, and Lucky Tubb & the Modern Day Troubadours.  Presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and Sailor Jerry’s Rum, and with a variety of unique events, including burlesque, classic car & bike show, pin-up contest, swing dance classes, a parade and even more contests and events along with live music day and night, this is hands down the hottest weekend in the Southwest!

Event producers Simon Cantlon and Ungelbah Davila, of Pink Flamingo Productions, say their goal is to celebrate America’s definitive musical legacy and classic Americana while raising funds to benefit Tucumcari’s New Mexico Route 66 Museum. After making the decision to retire the festival for 2018 and change its direction, Cantlon and Davila vowed to make the fifth year anniversary one for the books.

“We’re pulling out all the stops this year,” says Davila. “This event has won thousands of fans from around the world and we’ve had an incredible time hosting it, so this year we are definitely not going to disappoint. We have a reputation to maintain as the best Rockabilly weekender on Route 66 and we’re going out with a bang, pure Rockabilly on the Route style!
